Free practice has come to an end at the Misano World Circuit, hosting the seventh and final round of the Italian F.4 Championship. Once again, in the second session, the fastest driver on track was Luka Sammalisto, the Finnish talent from US Racing, who confirmed his excellent form by further improving the benchmark he had set earlier in the day. His best lap time dropped to 1:35.697.
In second place came Prema Racing’s Newman Chi, just 0.242 seconds behind, while Maksimilian Popov of Van Amersfoort Racing set the third-best time, 0.324 off the top. Three different teams in the top three positions underline the close competition expected in qualifying, which promises to be particularly intense. The next time the drivers take to the track will be to decide the grids for the three races scheduled for the weekend.
Sebastian Wheldon posted the fourth-fastest time, once again bringing Prema Racing to the front, 0.341 behind Sammalisto.

His teammate, the French driver Andrea Charles Dupé, followed in fifth at 0.483. Sixth place went to the Brazilian driver from US Racing, Gabriel Gomez, at 0.487.
In seventh position was Andrija Kostic, the Serbian driver also competing for US Racing, 0.531 behind the leader. Dante Vinci from Van Amersfoort Racing finished eighth with a gap of 0.561, closely followed by Oleksander Bondarev of Prema Racing, ninth at 0.572. Completing the top 10 was Salim Hanna, the Colombian driver for Prema Racing and current Rookie Trophy leader, with a time of 0.577.
Once again, Payton Westcott, the Californian driver from Van Amersfoort Racing, recorded the fastest lap among the female competitors, confirming herself as the quickest in the fight for the Women’s Trophy.
